Our Commitment to Accessibility
Chateau Hospitality Collection, Inc., doing business as Chez Bacchus (“Chez Bacchus,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), is committed to making our website accessible to all guests, including those with disabilities. We believe that everyone should be able to learn about our cuisine, explore our wine program, and plan a memorable dining experience with us — regardless of ability or the assistive technology they use.
We strive to conform to the internationally recognized accessibility standards set out in the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
Conformance Status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. They define three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.
Our website is designed to be partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. “Partially conformant” means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard — specifically, our third-party chat widget (see Known Limitations below).
Measures We Take to Support Accessibility
Chez Bacchus takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of our website:
- Semantic HTML: We use proper HTML landmarks (navigation, main content, footer), heading hierarchy, and semantic elements so screen readers can navigate our pages effectively.
- Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements — including navigation menus, buttons, the wine list tabs, and cocktail menu tabs — can be operated using a keyboard alone. Our tab components support standard ARIA tablist keyboard patterns (Arrow keys, Home, End).
- Color contrast: Text and interactive elements meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text). We have manually verified contrast for elements with gradient or image backgrounds.
- Descriptive alt text: All meaningful images have descriptive alternative text. Decorative images are properly marked as such so they are ignored by assistive technology.
- Accessible forms: Form inputs have associated labels, clear error messages where applicable, and logical tab order.
- Focus indicators: Interactive elements display a clearly visible focus indicator when navigated with a keyboard.
- Skip to content links: Each page includes a skip link so keyboard users can bypass repetitive navigation.
- Screen reader announcements: Important context such as “(opens in new tab)” is provided for screen reader users through hidden text.
- Responsive design: Our website adapts to different screen sizes and supports browser zoom up to at least 200% without loss of content or functionality.
- Language declaration: Every page declares its language in the HTML so screen readers can pronounce content correctly.
Assessment Approach
Chez Bacchus assessed the accessibility of our website using the following methods:
- Automated testing with axe-core version 4.10.2, using WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 Level A and Level AA rule sets.
- Manual review of contrast ratios for elements that axe-core flagged as “needs review” due to gradient backgrounds or transparency, using WCAG luminance calculations.
- Keyboard-only navigation testing to verify that all interactive elements are operable without a mouse.
Our most recent internal audit was conducted on April 11, 2026. All first-party content on our main pages returned zero WCAG 2.1 AA violations in axe-core.
Known Limitations
Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility, some limitations remain:
- Third-party chat widget: Our customer chat widget is provided by a third-party service (GoHighLevel). Its internal accessibility is managed by the vendor and may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards. If you experience difficulty using the chat widget, please contact us directly by phone, email, or in person using the information in the Feedback section below.
- Third-party embedded content: Some features on our website, such as the OpenTable reservation system and embedded maps, are provided by third parties. Their accessibility is maintained by those providers and is outside our direct control.
- User-generated content: Where applicable, content submitted by guests (such as reviews) may not always meet the same accessibility standards as our first-party content.
We are committed to working around these limitations and providing alternative ways to access the information and services affected.
Technical Specifications
Accessibility of our website relies on the following technologies working correctly with the combination of web browser and any assistive technologies or plugins installed on your computer:
- HTML5
- CSS3
- JavaScript (progressive enhancement — core content remains accessible without JavaScript)
- WAI-ARIA for dynamic widgets and labels
These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the accessibility standards used.
Compatibility with Browsers and Assistive Technology
Our website is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:
- Screen readers, including VoiceOver (macOS and iOS), NVDA, and JAWS on modern Windows versions.
- Screen magnifiers and browser zoom up to 200%.
- Voice control software, including Voice Control on macOS and Dragon NaturallySpeaking.
- Keyboard-only navigation.
Our website is designed to work with current and recent versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge. We recommend using the latest version of your browser for the best experience.

We periodically re-audit our website and update this Accessibility Statement to reflect our current conformance status.
