A Long Beach Restaurant for Evenings That Matter

Chez Bacchus is a considered dining room on East 4th Street, in the heart of Long Beach’s Arts District.

The kitchen cooks farm-to-table California cuisine with French technique, and the menu moves with the season, down to the mushrooms grown right here in Long Beach. Executive Chef Danny Le came to Chez Bacchus from Napa Rose, and in September 2026 he won the Long Beach Grand Prix Fixe, an eight-chef competition decided by diners’ votes.

Whether it is a date night, an anniversary, a birthday dinner or the evening you have been meaning to plan, the room is set for it: white linen, a wine list worth asking about, and a team that takes its time with you.

The Filet, Done Properly

For the steak dinner, the kitchen serves a 9 oz. Creekstone Filet Mignon with broccolini, celery root, onion soubise and beef jus. Ask the team for a pairing from the wine list.

A Sommelier’s List, Poured Nightly

The wine program at Chez Bacchus is curated by our Proprietor, an Advanced Sommelier certified by the Court of Master Sommeliers, in collaboration with a Master Sommelier. Expect a list built for the food rather than for show, and a team happy to find the bottle, or the glass, that suits the evening.

Romantic Dinners, Birthdays and Anniversaries

Long Beach guests choose Chez Bacchus when the evening matters: a first date or a fortieth anniversary, a birthday dinner, a promotion, a proposal.

What Diners Say

“Every single dish we had was excellent, but the rigatoni completely blew me away. The bread assortment deserves its own mention… This is a place that gets everything right. Food, service, atmosphere, all top notch.”

“All our dishes were well-executed and perfectly cooked: the octopus, wagyu tartare, lamb neck, and scallops were standouts, and the cocktails and wine were all on point. It was also cool to see how Chef Danny adds thoughtful and subtle riffs from Asian cuisine to the dishes…”
